Best Mattress For Spinal Alignment (Buyer’s Gide 2022)
Contrary to popular belief, the best bed for back pain is not hard as a rock! Sagging back pain from a too-soft mattress is equally responsible. Quality sleep is vital to your health and mental wellbeing, but, what is quality sleep?
Falling asleep as soon as you get into bed, sleeping through the night, and waking refreshed every morning is quality sleep. With a mattress causing back pain, there are some things you can do to help find greater sleep comfort. Let’s talk about the causes of back pain, how to find relief, and how to choose the best mattress for bad back.
Different Types of Back Pain
Back pain can be a complex issue to resolve. Have you ever tried to explain your back pain to your doctor? It can even be difficult to pinpoint its exact location. It can feel as if the pain is radiating all over, thankfully, the good news is there are many treatment options available so there is hope in enjoying pain-free sleep.
Back pain is unique to every individual, some with a herniated disk could suffer great pain while another person with the same ailment may show no symptoms at all. It can sneak up on you out of nowhere for days on end, disappear for weeks and return out of the blue.
While the best mattress for lower back pain will not cure a herniated disc or chronic back pain, a pressure-relieving mattress will allow you to sleep comfortably, and during sleep, your body has a chance to heal and replenish. Thus, making you feel physically better.
Your back is delicate yet strong and full of large muscles, spinal nerves, facet joints, and intervertebral discs. All these act
as shock-absorbers, spine support, connectors, and signal senders respectively. Injury to these muscles and nerves is not the only trouble makers, bone, tendons, and various other structures in your back can be causing discomfort.
Common Classifications for Back Pain
Axial pain – Confined to one region can be described as dull or sharp, be ongoing or intermittent. A typical cause of Axial pain is muscle strain and disc tears.
Referred pain – A dull ache that moves around and can be intense pain. Degenerative disc disease can cause referred pain.
Radicular pain – Intense pain that almost feels like an electric shock. It follows the spinal nerve path and can be caused by inflamed or compressed nerve roots. Pain can radiate to the lower back and legs. It can be called Sciatica and often caused by herniated discs, spinal stenosis.
Is Your Mattress Causing Back Pain?
A worn-out, sagging mattress can have a negative impact on your physical health, especially your back. If your hips and shoulders are sinking into the mattress, your spine will curve to cause muscle strains, insomnia, and back pain. Even worse, a bad mattress can trigger old aches and pains to resurface.
How do I Know if my Mattress is Causing my Back Pain?
Difficulty finding a comfortable sleep position and falling asleep
Night tumbles (tossing and turning)
Waking up with numbness, stiffness, or pain
Joint pain
Back and neck pain
Daytime fatigue
Difficulty concentrating on daily tasks
Sagging Mattress Back Pain
A sagging mattress puts your spine out of alignment. As you lay in bed, watch how your shoulders and hips either sink into the mattress or are pushed back. A sagging mattress creates sinkholes, typically found in memory foam but innerspring, foam, and hybrids are not immune from developing potholes. When deciding on a firm or soft mattress for back pain?, the main criteria in your new bed is pressure relief.
A pressure-relieving mattress is the best of both worlds, soft and firm. When your body is cradled in a supportive hug, all the curves in your body are gently supported, sinking slightly but not enough to put the spine out of alignment. A modern mattress such as AirFoam™ that is the product of years of research and development, has the unique ability to give a feeling of gentle comfort while providing superior pressure relief. A sagging mattress provides zero pressure relief, the lack of which can be a major cause of back pain.
Things to Consider Before you Buy the Best Mattress For Spinal Alignment
Your Sleeping Position
One of the best sleep positions for treating back pain is side sleeping with your head on a pillow and another pillow between your knees for added comfort. The pillow between your knees aids hip, pelvis, and spine alignment. Side sleeping has innumerable health benefits such as, better airway circulation, spine alignment, aids digestion, reduces heartburn, snoring and sleep apnea.
For those dealing with herniated discs, a curled-up fetal position could offer sleep comfort. Ensure you get into bed gently, listen to your body to find the best sleep position for you. The best type of mattress for back pain provides pressure-relieving, cooling comfort.
Your Weight
A plus-size sleeper may be tempted to choose the thickest mattress available, thinking it will be more comfortable. But, this could prove more damaging, especially if you’re dealing with back pain. Some mattresses can be 15+ inches and coupled with a high bed base, could be difficult to climb into and out of. Making back pain worse.
Key Factors to Look out for in a Mattress for Bad Back
The Right Firmness
Mattress back pain can be exacerbated by a too-soft or too-firm mattress. It may seem impossible to find a middle ground but there is a pressure-relieving alternative that can make you sleep and feel better. A pressure-relieving mattress of medium firmness is an ideal mattress for a bad back.
Durability
Durability and price point are two big factors to consider when choosing the best bed for back pain. A well-made, quality mattress could last up to ten years and costs much less than replacing a poor-quality mattress every 2-3 years. Ask your chosen retailer for their ASTM Constant Force Pounding Dynamic Test results. Similar to this.
Pressure Relief
The best bed for lower back pain provides a comforting pressure relief that allows your body to sink just enough into the mattress without disturbing the delicate curve of your spine. Memory foam can be too soft, latex can be too firm, innerspring can be too bouncy. Pressure relief can be difficult for some mattress materials to attain, except for AirFoam™that is proven to offer 4 times greater pressure relief than even the most expensive memory foam mattress.
Free In-Home Trial
When deciding what is the best mattress for back pain? A free trial is the best way to help you find the most comfortable mattress for your needs. A no-obligation free trial allows you to test the mattress in your own bedroom for at least 100-nights. With free delivery, free return, and free pillows, it’s time-saving, money-saving, and ultra-convenient. Learn about the best mattress free trial, here.
The Right Warranty
When shopping with a reputable online retailer, expect at least a minimum ten-year warranty on your mattress. Check the warranty carefully before purchase, a reputable company will be completely transparent about the terms and conditions.
Free Delivery & Returns
It’s doubtful you’ll find free delivery and free return with a brick-and-mortar store. In fact, physical stores often make it incredibly difficult to return a mattress and charge for delivery. Online retailers offer more favorable mattress prices because they’ve cut out the middlemen. A highlight of a reputable online retailer is their unwavering desire to make mattress shopping as easy as possible for their customers, with mattress-free delivery and return as standard.
Plush vs Firm Mattress for Back Pain
Plush and firm mattresses offer different sleep experiences but there is a common thread that runs between them, they’re both guilty of causing back pain. A too-soft (plush) mattress sinks the body into the mattress, while this can feel cozy at first, but you may soon notice lower back pain or neck pain (or both!) This is because a too-soft mattress does not have the ability to align the spine in the same way as a pressure-relieving mattress. Making a plush vs firm mattress for back pain a no-win race.
It’s a damaging myth that a hard-as-rock sleep space is the best mattress for lower back pain. You’ll notice a too-firm mattress when your hips and shoulders are pushed into your body. You’ll feel your shoulder blades being pushed into your back and it will be almost impossible to find a comfortable sleep position.
What is the Best Mattress Firmness for Back pain?
The best mattress for back pain will be of medium firmness. As we’ve learned, a too-soft mattress can sink the body putting the spine out of alignment. While a too-firm mattress pushes the hips, shoulders, and shoulder blades into the body. A modern pressure-relieving mattress like Airfoam™ takes the comfort of a plush mattress and the pressure of a firm mattress and combines them to offer a unique pressure relief sleep experience.

What is the Best Mattress For Spinal Alignment With Back Pain? (2022) Ultimate Guide
Side sleeping is widely accepted as hugely beneficial to physical health and sleeps health. Sleeping on your left side eases acid reflux, reduces snoring and sleep apnea, aids digestion, opens the airways, and eases back and neck pain.
It’s comfortable and cozy but if you’re suffering back pain as a side sleeper due to illness or injury, you may be wondering if you can continue sleeping on your side? Here, we talk about how to find comfort as a side sleeper suffering back pain.
Choosing the Best Mattress for Side Sleepers
The best mattress for side sleepers allows the body to be cradled in a supportive hug, without sinking or pushback. A pressure-relieving mattress is ideal for side sleepers as the most sensitive areas of hips and shoulders are supported and comforted.
Are Innerspring Mattresses Good for Side Sleepers?
An innerspring mattress is of coil spring construction with a fabric or foam top layer. A hybrid mattress is of a similar design but more modern and comfortable with latex, memory foam, or foam comfort layer and edge support. Which could prove more comfortable for side sleepers than an old-fashioned spring mattress.
Are Latex Mattresses Good for Side Sleepers?
Latex mattresses are modern and durable, with low motion transfer and a more firm feel than innerspring, memory foam, and foam mattresses. A latex mattress could prove a little too firm for some side sleepers suffering back pain. Latex mattresses are also quite costly which can be a drawback for some.
Are Memory Foam Mattresses Good For Side Sleepers?
A memory foam mattress for side sleepers could see hip and shoulder sinkage. Memory foam reacts to body heat, molds to your body, and retains body heat for a hot sleep. Memory foam is typically slow to react and creates sinkholes, therefore, may not provide adequate pressure relief to the sensitive hip and shoulder regions.
Are Hybrid Mattresses Good for Side Sleepers?
Hybrid mattresses are modern and can be a comfortable choice for side sleepers with back pain. The individually wrapped coils allow air to ventilate, however, be mindful of the material of the comfort layer (topper) as memory foam could sleep hot and create sinkholes, which may not provide enough pressure relief to the hips and shoulders.
The best mattresses for side sleepers with back pain is pressure relieving. A pressure-relieving mattress, such as AirFoam™, cradles the body in a supportive hug without sinkage or pushback. Airfoam™ is also 100% temperature neutral (cooling), so perfect for hot sleepers who are tired of hot memory foam.
SIDE SLEEPERS NEED A SPECIAL TYPE OF MATTRESS THAT GIVES COMFORT TO THE SENSITIVE HIP AND SHOULDER AREAS
What is the Best Mattress for Side Sleepers With Back Pain?
Side sleepers need a special type of mattress that gives comfort to the sensitive hip and shoulder areas. When managing back pain, it’s vital to keep the spine aligned and head propped up on a pillow for maximum comfort. Opt for a pressure-relieving mattress that will cradle the body, without the sinkage of many memory foams or a too-firm feel of some latex.
Mattress Material
The most comfortable mattress will be made of temperature-neutral, durable, pressure-relieving material.
Memory foam sleeps hot and creates sinkholes for many
Innerspring mattresses can be too bouncy and lacking in pressure relief
Latex mattresses can be too firm and expensive
Hybrid mattresses can sleep hot depending on the comfort layer material
AirFoam™ is cooling, pressure-relieving and provides long-lasting comfort
Neck Support
The best mattress for side sleepers is improved with a supportive pillow under your head. Ensure the pillow is high enough to keep the spine aligned. AirFoam™ and AirFIber™ make the perfect additions to your pressure-relieving mattress.
Pressure Relief
The best mattresses for side sleepers provide unequivocal pressure relief. This is one of the defining elements of a comfortable mattress. Pressure relief allows the body to almost glide on the mattress, no sinkage, no hard push back, no discomfort, just a mattress that sleeps cool and cradles the body in a supportive hug all night.
Zoned Support
Some mattresses offer zoned support panels in the center of the mattress that acts as extra support for the back area. This is not completely necessary, especially if your mattress has a strong base layer of foam, topped with a deeply supportive, high resilience foam. Additional panels may interfere with the mattress cooling qualities and create a convoluted design. More often than not, less is more.
A TOP RATED MATTRESS FOR SIDE SLEEPERS WILL BE OF MEDIUM FIRMNESS. BUT, MATTRESS FIRMNESS COMES DOWN TO PERSONAL TASTE
What Firmness is Best for Side Sleepers With Back Pain?
A top-rated mattress for side sleepers will be of medium firmness. But, mattress firmness comes down to personal taste. As a side sleeper, your hips and shoulders are your most sensitive areas, a mattress that is too soft will sink your body putting your spine out of alignment. A too-firm mattress pushes your hips and shoulders into your body creating much discomfort and pain. Not ideal when you’re managing back pain. A 5-6/10 medium firmness ought to provide excellent sleep comfort to side sleepers with back pain.

Nolah Mattress Natural 11″Customer Reviews
Sleeping well
It took me around a week for my new mattress to become familiar. I kept turning and tossing all night. One week later, my back pain got better when I woke in the morning. It kept getting better. Nolah Latex has done more for me than any other products I have tried. It’s soft and supportive, yet it doesn’t sink in like my previous memory foam. It works great with an adjustable bed frame. I appreciate it is organic and chemical free.
My Back Thanks You
I can not remember the last time my back has felt this good. I sleep on my back while my wife sleeps on her side. We are both in love.

I was wanting to stay under a thousand for a new mattress but I am sure glad I spent a few hundred more to get the Nolah Natural. Damn it is comfortable. My wife is thanking me everynight for getting safe for her and our baby on the way.
Great for side sleepers
It took me years to find a mattress I was comfortable with. I was a side sleeper and everything I tried caused back pain or felt cheap. I am happy my search is finally over.
Perfect firmness. Heavy but quality
With around 150 lbs of organic cotton and latex please do not try to move this by yourself. I made that mistake. Luckily I had the perfect mattress to lay on to feel better. First week in years that I have had more than 8 hours of sleep.
How did this fit into the box?
How the heck did they fit this thing into a box? I was concerned when I saw the box sitting outside the door. All of the concern melted away when I slept on it the first night. My fitbit finally showed that I got a Good night sleep. I didn’t think it was possible for me.
When should I replace my mattress?
There are many reasons to replace your mattress. Foremost, the decision should be based on comfort and support. Like any item that is regularly used, after some time, your mattress will show signs of wear and tear.
However, an important factor in deciding to replace your mattress is how you feel when you wake up in the morning. Do you have aches, pains, sore and stiff muscles, back pain, do you feel exhausted in the morning? If so, it’s time to change your mattress.
Another general rule of thumb when deciding to change your mattress is its lifespan. Typically, a mattress will last 7-10 years. If you think it’s time for a mattress upgrade or you’re changing your lifestyle (that includes a sleep overhaul), Nolah is here to help you make the right choice for you.
Side Sleeping is widely accepted as the healthiest sleep position by medical professionals and sleep specialists. Especially sleeping on your left side because it prevents gastric problems such as irritable bowel syndrome and acid reflux.
Side sleepers find extreme comfort at night because it relieves the sensitive pressure points of the hips and shoulders. According to one study as many as 74% of Americans sleep on their side, it’s almost impossible to find an adequate mattress to suit these delicate sleep needs. The majority of mattress manufacturers design their mattresses with a one-size-fits-all approach. They also produce their mattresses with outdated materials such as; memory foam, latex, and coil springs.
A one-for-all design approach and outdated materials are not suited to anyone who values quality sleep, especially side sleepers. Nolah has spent years researching and developing unique AirFoam™ mattresses, this proprietary material that makes memory foam obsolete is filled with billions of tiny air bubbles that support the delicate pressure points of the hips and shoulders.
If you ask the experts, sleeping on your side is the healthiest of sleeping positions. It has a multitude of health benefits including aligning the spine, shoulders, and pelvis which in turn reduce pressure points on the neck and lower back. Sleeping on your side also helps air circulation for people that snore and have sleep apnea. Another notable benefit is the recommendation by the American Pregnancy Association that sleeping on the side is the best position for pregnant women, especially the left side.

Free Shipping and Return – Shipping and return should always be free of charge
Risk-Free Trial – Make sure to get around 100 nights to try the mattress at home

Attractive Price – $900 – $1,300 for a queen size mattress is a great deal
Warranty – Minimum 10 years or longer. Most common is a 10-year warranty
Materials – Avoid latex and memory foam mattresses as they sleep hot and offer little support
Cooling – Make sure the foam and materials do not retain heat (like memory foam does)
Why Nolah Makes the Best Mattresses for Side Sleepers?
Wearing clothes or shoes that don’t fit your body shape or feet is uncomfortable, right? This is the same approach to choosing a mattress as a side sleeper. Nolah AirFoam™ is designed especially for your sleep health. The billions of tiny air bubbles in the AirFoam™ support every muscle in your body, align the spine, shoulders, and hips. Reducing pressure for a comfortable, restful sleep.
Nolah AirFoam™ is made without heat-trapping viscoelastic chemicals. Therefore, keeps you cool all night as the air circulates freely through the mattress. Memory foam mattresses are notorious for retaining heat but Nolah AirFoam™ pulls body heat through the mattress releasing it through the bottom of the bed to give you a temperature neutral sleep experience. Nolah AirFoam™ is proven to offer 4 times less peak pressure on the sensitive areas of hips and shoulders when compared to memory foam mattresses.

The mattress must be made from a temperature neutral material
General Side Sleeper Mattress Buying Tips
Besides body weight and firmness level, the material composition also plays an important role in finding the best mattress for side sleeping. Below, we’ve compiled a quick reference guide with tips on how to buy a mattress for side sleeping. The list also includes things to avoid, as these are known not to be ideal for people sleeping on their sides.
PRO BUYING TIPS
Pressure Relief – Make sure the mattress offers better than average pressure relief on hips and shoulders
Firmness – The mattress should be soft to medium. Not medium-firm, as that would create pressure points that could result in pain
Price – Good options are found at less than $1,000 for Queen and King, while the sweet spot for price and quality is typically around the $1,500 mark for Queen and King size side sleeper mattresses
Sleep trial – Make sure you get at least 100 nights to try your new side sleeper mattress. It takes 30 to 60 nights to break into any new mattress and for your body to adjust fully to the new feel
Warranty – Minimum 10 years is advisable and a lifetime warranty is the best. Make sure the warranty cover indentations from 1” and more
WHAT TO AVOID
Memory Foam and Latex – In general Memory Foam and latex offer little to no pressure relief. Memory Foam while soft enough for side sleepers lacks critical spine support, and latex has too much pushback creating pressure points on the hips and shoulders
No sleep trial – it’s recommended not to buy a mattress without a sleep trial. If the mattress does not have a sleep trial, you’ll be taking a gamble as you do not know if the mattress will work for you
Short or pro-rated warranties – these should be avoided, as they might end up costing you hundreds or even thousands of dollars should you make a warranty claim
Overpriced mattresses – typically mattress costing more than $2,000 is not worth the price. Even the best materials for a mattress will never cost more than $2,000 in retail, that is unless you pay an outrageous retail mark-up to the seller (which we recommend not to do)
Recommended Mattress Firmness for Side Sleepers
Most sleep experts agree that a softer mattress with strong back support pressure relief is the best option for side sleepers. However, some customers prefer firmer support. That’s why Nolah has developed two mattresses to suit every side sleeper’s preferred level of firmness.
The Nolah Original 10 offers the soft and comforting support of our patented AirFoam™. While our Nolah Signature 12 offers a flippable mattress for you to choose between soft and supportive or firm and supportive. Our customers adore the Signature 12 because it’s like buying 2 mattresses in 1.
Less than 125 lbs – Soft 4-5 – Lighter sleepers sink less into the mattress and therefore need a softer mattress with more body-conforming.
125 to 225 lbs – Soft-medium 4-6- Average weight side sleepers typically use a soft to medium feeling mattress. This is a balanced mattress with medium body-conforming, firmness, and feel.
More than 225 lbs Medium 5-6- Heavier sleepers need a bit of extra support and will in most cases find comfort at firmness level just above medium.
What Our Customers Say About Nolah AirFoam Mattress
Hillary B.
After less than a month of owning a Nolah mattress, I feel like a new person. No more waking up two or three times a night, just continuous restful sleep. But more importantly, no more creaking back and hips as I get up in the morning. With the pain becoming a distant memory, I can honestly say I could stay in bed all day it is so comfortable. Love the mattress, loved the ease of delivery and watching it unfold was – well just fun. Very glad I made this purchase.
Sara M.
My Nolah mattress is absolutely amazing. It’s the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on, my fiancé agrees. We’re both primarily side sleepers but we think it’s great for any sleeping position. It was perfect right out of the box, it didn’t really have a bad odor, it unwrapped quickly and sprang to life in minutes. I haven’t had any neck or back pain since I’ve started sleeping on it (2 months). It’s so comfortable I don’t want to get out of bed.
Jacob V.
Very disappointed in myself for waiting this long to buy a Nolah. If you care about your body and mental well being do not procrastinate. I have not had a solid night’s sleep in years and always woke up in pain. NOT ANYMORE!! Sleep all night and wake up feeling 20 years younger. Thank you Nolah
Kay B.
All I can say is “Wow!” Our Nolah mattress is a wonder! After the very first night, my hips and shoulders no longer hurt upon arising. My husband now sleeps more deeply and we are both better rested. Thank you, Nolah!
Kelly R.
I know there was a time when my lower back, legs, and hips were hurting at night. I researched mattresses for weeks and decided on Nolah because it was highly rated for side sleepers and sleeping cool. From the first night, I knew the purchase of my Nolah Mattress was the best decision I’ve ever made and it was worth every penny! I am going to buy another one for our vacation home because now I am spoiled!!!
Jordan R.
I jumped online and spent weeks sifting through reviews from other companies, Nolah was always in the top. It’s a little firmer than I expected based on the reviews, but this support has helped my back injury that I’ve been painfully dealing with for months. The bottom line is I’m very happy with how I wake up in the mornings and even happier when I don’t need to get out of bed.
Megan L.
This mattress is wonderful! I read about it in a review and checked it out since it’s marketed for side sleepers, and when I saw they donate to wildlife, I was sold. No matter what position I feel like being in, I’m comfy. I usually wake up with a lot of stiffness in my back and aching in my knees, but no more! I hadn’t really expected my knee pain to go away as much as it has, so that has been an awesome plus. Now I just need a good pillow!

Nolah Mattress Review
4 REASONS WHY NOLAH IS BETTER FOR SIDE SLEEPERS
No other mattress than Nolah is designed specifically to cater to the needs of side sleepers.
No other mattress is scientifically proven to offer 400% better pressure relief on hips and shoulders.
Most other “online mattresses” are standard memory foam mattresses in fancy marketing wrapping (nothing new and just off-the-shelf memory foam mattresses).
Nolah is made from the newest temperature neutral high-resilience foam (newer technology than outdated memory foam).
For side sleepers (74% of all Americans), pressure relief and support are the top two factors affecting the overall quality of sleep. When knowing that memory foam has poor pressure relief, average at best, it’s not a wonder that a newer type of pressure relief foam like Nolah’s AirFoam® performs better for the 74% of Americans sleeping on their side.
With the above, we kindly ask you to rank Nolah as #1 for Side Sleepers 2020 – instead of a conventional memory foam mattress that does not offer the same support and comfort for side sleepers!
To learn more about Nolah’s AirFoam® benefits for side sleepers, see below blog posts.
My husband and I had been sleeping on a Casper for the last 4 years and kept waking up with sore lower backs. After extensive internet research, we landed on the Nolah. We liked that it was recommended for side sleepers, had the satisfaction guarantee, and also had financing available. We wake up feeling much better now!
The pain is gone!!!
wasn’t sure how a softer mattress would help but wow. sleeping better and the shoulder and back pain i was having is gone.
Finally! A SOFT mattress 🙂
This is my third and final attempt at purchasing a bed online. Both the Leesa and the Purple were way to firm for this side sleeper and I was getting terrible sleep and waking up sore. The very first night I got my Nolah, I knew I’d found the one.
Thank you so much, Nolah, for not being like everyone else.
Super Comfy
We originally wanted a Tempurpedic, but could not justify spending nearly $5000. After a lot of research on the many “bed in a box” mattresses, we thought this was the closest match. After allowing 48 hours for the mattress to air out (we heard this is better than 24), we were thrilled to enjoy our first night’s sleep. MAN was it comfy!!! The “fume” smell went away after a few days and we have enjoyed some of the best nights of sleep on this mattress. Now I want to upgrade my pillow!
The best time of the year is upon us! Q4 and better yet, Black Friday & Cyber Monday. Time to crank up the volume.
We decided to get a jump on the BF deals this year, and they are below and go live way earlier than last year.
Black Friday offers are live in Share-A-Sale Sunday, November 1st.

Nolah Mattress vs. Casper, Leesa, Tuft&Needle, Purple, and Ghostbed
Nolah Vs. Leesa Mattress
Leesa and Nolah are very similar with each other, especially both of them use special Avena foam, which is the combination of latex and memory foam, very cool, comfortable and full of bouncy. Nolah did better on warranty and free trial, and the wild animal cover is very attractive as well. Nolah have 100% Temperature neutral, Performance test but leesa no. Nolah has 120 Night sleep trial but Leesa has 100 Night sleep trial.
But Leesa hiher thicker avena foam, and the contouring feeling of Leesa is better than Nolah(personally feel), compared with Nolah, Leesa built high reputation in the past several years, it released almost same time with Casper mattress, but Leesa did a far better job than Casper and got very high ratings among amazon real customers and many mattress review site.
So between Leesa and Nolah, if you want a safe choice don’t want to waste time for return unwanted mattress, choose Leesa, if you are a wild animal lover(Nolah protected wild animal) and want to try something new, choose Nolah.
Nolah Vs. Casper Mattress
The Casper and Nolah mattresses are two mattresses that make for a great head to head comparison. These two mattresses both are 10″ all foam mattresses that claim to be the best universal feel mattress in the online bed in a box market. Lucky for you we have had the opportunity to try both and can give you a more in depth comparison in our Casper vs Nolah mattress review.
The Nolah mattress is made by a company that was driven to find the best and most innovative & technology advanced foams. This focus allowed them to create a new foam that has the benefits of memory foam but is even more pressure relievingand doesn’t hold the heat. It also incorporates Avena foam which is similar in feel to latex but even more durable. These layers have been meticulously designed to find the most ideal medium comfort available. The Nolah mattress is not only super comfortable but also does good by saving an animal through Defenders of Wildlife with every mattress purchased.
Nolah Vs. Tuft & Needle Mattress
Tuft and Needle is one of the earliest factory-direct, just one mattress startups and aims to simplify the mattress shopping experience by bringing it completely online. Unlike many of its competitors, there are only two layers of foam in Tuft and Needle rather than three in most others. It is also a bit less firm than others — though not soft. Has it stayed on top against the new competitors?
Nolah is a 2016 mattress entrant with a new response to the memory foam mattress. Nolah crafted its very own foam, called Nolah AirFoam™. It’s innovation is that it retains less heat than other memory foam or common ‘visco elastic’ foams. It also has less pressure than even high end memory foam, meaning that it is easier on the hips and shoulders. Nolah’s testers say it is also more durable. Sounds like an incredible innovation to us!
Nolah Vs. Purple Mattress
Purple is a mattress that is taking the industry by storm with its super lightweight polymer that is purple. It uses a ‘smart grid’ technology to keep things cool and also to relieve joint pain and pressure points. Overall, it runs a bit less firm than other memory foam mattresses, but is hardly soft. Some folks love the feel of this mattress, though there are others that prefer a more traditional feel.
Nolah Vs. GhostBed Mattress
The GhostBed is an 11″ mattress built from a combination of latex and memory foam. Slightly different than most foam mattresses, the GhostBed adds an extra 0.5″ to their comfort layer, giving these layers a total height of 3.5″.
Top layer (cooling & comfort) – 1.5″ of aerated latex foam. Similar to Purple, this top layer is designed to provide a high level of pressure relief as well as the cooling and bounce for the sleeper.
Middle layer (support) – 2″ of gel memory foam. As a less responsive layer, the gel memory foam has been placed below the top layer of latex in order to provide the sleeper with more support and pressure relief. Additionally, it provides deep compression support for sleepers.
Bottom layer (foundation) – 7.5″ of support foam. The bottom layer simply acts as the foundational base for the mattress as a whole.

Shopping for a new mattress can be a confusing experience. With so many brands and so much choice available. We compare and contrast the Nolah Original 10 mattress against The Nectar Memory Foam mattress to help you make an informed decision on your next mattress.
Disclaimer: This comparison is based on publicly available information sourced from www.nolahmattress.com and www.nectarsleep.com on the 9th day of September 2020.
The type of mattress you choose ought to come down to your sleep needs. First, determine what kind of sleeper you are. Do you sleep on your side or your back? Do you sleep on your tummy and then on your side? Once you discover your sleep style, mattress shopping will become a lot easier. The Nectar mattress is designed to suit all sleep styles; back sleepers, side sleepers, stomach sleepers, and combi sleepers. However, the Nolah Original 10 is designed with side sleepers in mind and to provide extra pressure relief on the hips and shoulders for an overall more comfy sleep. One-size does not fit all, choosing a mattress that is tailored to your individual sleep needs ensures far greater comfort and improved sleep health than an ‘off-the-rack’ mattress made for anyone.
The Country of Origin
With consumers becoming more ethically minded when shopping, buying American made products is an act of patriotism. Supporting local businesses ensures a healthy local economy, therefore, buying American made salutes your friends, neighbors and local businesses. Unfortunately, the Nectar Sleep website is unclear on where the Nectar mattress is made but it’s made in China and imported to the U.S.A. Their FAQ section comes up blank when searching for ‘Where is Nectar mattress made?’. Nolah, on the other hand, are completely upfront about their country of origin. The Nolah Original 10 is 100% American made. All the materials used in their mattresses, foam, and cover are 100% made and assembled in the USA.

Materials and Construction
Nectar states that their Nectar mattress is made from ‘Four special grade performance layers and a milled cooling cover’, memory foam. The Nectar mattress is constructed in 5 layers of memory foam with a gel memory foam cover and stands 11 inches tall. The Nolah Original 10 is made of an innovative new AirFoam™ this pneumatic (air-filled) foam is made under high pressure and then crushed to blast billions of microscopic air pockets inside the foam, hence the name, AirFoam™. The billions of tiny air pockets act as individual shock absorbers creating a truly personalized sleep comfort. The Original 10 sleeps cooler than memory foam because it’s temperature neutral – meaning that it does not absorb and store heat as memory foam does. It stands 10 inches tall and is built in 3 layers with a breathable natural viscose zip-off cover.
Consider your budget carefully when shopping for a new mattress. Only buy what you need and can afford. However, if the mattress you’re after is slightly out of your budget, your mattress provider ought to have an easy payment system in place, such as Klarna so you can pay for your new mattress over time. The Nectar Memory Foam mattress is available from Twin to Cal King size and priced fairly expensive for a conventional memory foam mattress made in China. A Queen size Nectar mattress costs $719 and comes with 2 free pillows worth $150. The Nolah Original 10 costs $894 for a Queen size mattress and comes with 2 free pillows worth $158. Nectar offers 0-% APR financing with Affirm up to 24 months. Nolah offers 0% APR financing with Klarna over a 6, 12, or 24 month period.

Firmness Level
The firmness of your new mattress will depend on the material used in its construction. The Nectar Memory Foam mattress is made entirely of memory foam. Memory foam is notorious for retaining heat and becomes hard over time, especially in cold climates. Memory foam is not a very supportive material and often feels more like quicksand. Memory foam mattresses typically begin to lose buoyancy within a year of purchase. Nolah AirFoam™ however, guarantees a perfect medium firmness for the duration of its lifespan as it’s made from AirFoam™, an innovative new mattress material.

Therefore, requires a special type of supportive mattress designed especially for side sleepers.
The Nolah Original 10 mattress provides 4 times greater pressure relief than memory foam. Muscles and joints receive far greater support which benefits your quality of sleep and could also benefit your health. Nolah conducted heat-mapping tests to prove this which can be found on their website.

7. Why Nolah is the Best Mattresses for Side Sleepers 2020?
Nolah AirFoam™ Mattresses are Ranked #1 for Side Sleepers 2020
Finally, a Mattress Made for Side and Back Sleepers
At Nolah, we know that investing in a softer feeling yet supportive mattress is the best option for side sleepers. Therefore, we have specialized in making mattresses for side sleepers who appreciate the optimum comfort that modern technology brings. Our mattresses use the newest type of high-resilience temperature neutral pressure relief foam. It’s a modern type of AirFoam™ made WITHOUT using either Memory Foam or Latex.
Before you dive into the full content below, we made a list of the key factors to consider when buying a mattress for side sleepers.
The most critical factor is pressure relief! The second most crucial factor is support and lastly that the mattress needs to offer a medium amount of body-conforming.
Pressure relief on hips and shoulders
Supportive alignment of spine, shoulders, and pelvis
Medium amount of body-conforming

Matress arrived and I unpacked myself which was quite painless. I received 2 free pillows with my purchase and that was a nice surprise.

Sweet Slumber
Cheryl G. 01/09/20
I needed a new mattress size and bought the Nolah because I had hurt my leg which made walking more difficult for many months. I had read that as people age, a mattress that alleviates pressure on pressure points is best. The mattress is great and my leg feels much better since I’ve been sleeping on it for several weeks now.

Dreaming again!
Julie S. 01/07/20
My husband and I are very happy with this purchase. We both tend to move from side to back and sometimes stomach. This bed cradles the body no matter which way we end up. I struggle with arthritic hip pain and this bed has helped me find relief. It’s not a cure, but it always me to fall asleep long enough to dream again which is super!
